Booking an award with an open jaw in a different region

As far as I can see, US airways doesn't allow one way awards . How does the rate desk price an award that involves 3 different regions?

More specifically, I am looking to book a North America - North Asia award on the outbound and a North Asia - South America (with a stopover in North America) award on the return .

Would 1/2 of North America - Asia and 1/2 of South America - Asia awards be used to calculate the mileage requirements for this one, or does US take a different approach?
