DL announced its new routes from LGA, and included in that is 6x LGA-PIT.

PIT was one of the few destinations that US was keeping in the transaction. Is that still the case, meaning they will compete head to head?

It also includes 5X LGA-CLT and 4X LGA-PHL, which US will definitely keep, so I wouldn't assume that PIT's inclusion has anything to do with US. Indeed, US and DL can't coordinate on route planning since they don't have anti-trust exemption. DL's just throwing dozens of RJs (oh, and a handful of MD-88s) at everything inside the perimeter.

Full list at the DL thread.

Even if US decides to keep PIT, they will eventually shut it down. US will not compete on an O&D route.

So will US still have half of their current terminal at LGA, or would they be moving to the main terminal ?

Delta made a bunch of noise last week by announcing the 'new' routes & such & said they'll be moving into the US terminal, & building a connector between theirs & US. I didn't know if that meant that they'll fully or partially take over the US terminal. Most articles did mention that DL will have a club in each...

According to May 2011 news release (emphasis mine)

US Airways' popular hourly Shuttle service between LaGuardia, Reagan National and Boston that is operated on dual-class mainline jets will remain unchanged as a result of the transaction. Also, US Airways will continue to offer its customers high-frequency schedules from LaGuardia to its Charlotte, N.C. and Philadelphia hubs and Pittsburgh with more than 60 daily weekday flights. All US Airways flights from LaGuardia will continue to arrive and depart from nine gates and parking positions in Terminal C and US Airways will build a new, state-of-the-art 5,000-square foot US Airways Club.

The three worst letters in the English language appear far too often in that schedule.

They're really doubling down on military traffic (Fayetteville & Jacksonville NC) and on the Florida Panhandle (Ft. Walton Beach,* Pensacola, and Tallahassee). However, these only account for +21 daily flights and US calls it "phase one" of its expansion; I assume that the recipients of the other 21 daily flights will be announced at a later date.

* I think airlineroute.net misread "VPS" as Valparaiso, Indiana (VPZ, which has no commercial traffic).

Wonder if they are starting out with CRJ's they can operate from the commuter world until the gate swap with UA happens in July, then switch at least some of this to E17x/19x?

You mean to say that 18-some additional flights a day will operate out of Gate 35 three-ring circus? Heaven forfend... Although that would explain why there's a "Phase 1" and "Phase 2" to this thing.
