Just a tiny down sizing!

my home town airport ORD gets usually gets all 737's from PIT,PHL and CLT. Also gets EMB170's from DCA. I recently saw (especially on the weekends) that flights from PIT, and PHL are from time to time switching to EMB 170's which is not real good. ALL CLT's flights are still on 737 I hope this changes soon. Also another point.

As far as I can remember before the DCA service, all US Airways flights in and out of ORD were 737. back in 2000 once it was 757 to PHL. Anyhow why do they just use Boeing aircraft from ORD? Also the merger will be quite confusing, HP only uses Aibus to/from PHX, and LAS. will they leave it like that or will they change them all to airbus immediately( I know US wil be and all airbus fleet by 2011) but I mean will they go airbus soon?

Sorry but the E170 is a better aircraft in coach than the 737. But if you want first class then yes I can understand why. But if you are in coach the E170 wins for sure.

I agree with the coach part though I love the no midlle seats thing!

In coach part, all RJs, except CRJ (50 seats) are better than any 3 3 seating no matter Airbus or Boeing aircrafts.

Aside from the no center seats why do you like the E170? I'm tempted to book DCA to DFW but it is only E170 service non-stop. I'm concerned that it might feel too much like a 50 seat CRJ on a 3+ hour flight. Am I wrong?

I believe that the E170 has the greatest Y pitch (non-exit row of course) of any plane in the US fleet.

Yes, you are wrong. The 170 is definitely not like the CRJs. MUCH more comfortable, and with decent overhead bins.

It really feels like about the width of a md-8X. I flew on one from ORD to DCA and although I would rather fly in F it is MUCH better than the other planes in Y. I have a roller that wont fit in bins wheels first (even the enhanced bins) but it fit fine in these bines on its side just like any other mainline aircraft.

The Boeing's actually hold more passengers than the Airbus

319 holds 120 while the 737-300 holds 126

320 holds 142 while the 737-400 holds 144
