Post Court Approves Merger

FYI, a judge just OK'd US Air's emergence from bankruptcy and approved the merger with America West.

A new chapter is here for US Airways!

However, the Court let the execs golden parachutes stand. Oh well, I suppose that sometimes you have to pay to get rid of your trash.

so don't take out the power ports!

from the press release "Lakefield said that the company’s full attention now will be on the completion of the merger, the implementation of consistent customer service offerings, the building of a unified corporate culture, and the transfer of headquarters functions to Tempe, Ariz"

They were going to be gone anyway. With all the cuts labor has been forced to take, it is just plain wrong to give departing executives a big pay-out. What payout did labor receive when they were laid-off get? [none]

And the airline expects front line staff to keep smiling?
