Envoy sold out 10/25 MAD-PHL?
Trying to figure out my upgrade chances and when I pick Envoy for 10/25 MAD-PHL it gives me a Y fare with a little "x" next to the 767 part, meaning Envoy sold-out or unavailable. Is this common this far out. I'd be glad for US if they sold all the seats but sad for me for I have already ticketed. Was going to use gifted DS00087.

Envoy is completely full on 10/25. Good for US, sorry for you... It's wide open a day before or after, though.

If you're already ticketed, depending on your status, you may still have a chance to upgrade on day of departure. Any "sold out" flight has no-shows and cancellations. You may get lucky!
Please post after your trip and let us know how you made out.

You're unlucky in that US stops flying the A330 after the summer and returns to the 767, leaving less potential Envoy seats.
We've flown the MAD flight a few times and notice that Envoy goes out full every time both directions ( Oct 2004, Jan & Jul 2005 ). A good chunk of those Envoy pax were Spanish nationals. I guess it reflects the market that US is building on the route, which is good for US.
As mentioned, you could hope for the best on the day of flight. But if you do have flexibility and can change the day, an Envoy seat could still be worth the change fee.
Enjoy your trip.

Madrid is a good route to have as there aren't many airlines that fly this market directly from the US. It's been my experience that these flights are usually very full, if not overbooked. When the equipment is a 767, upgrading to Envoy Class is rather difficult.
