Oh my gosh....by coincidence I am booked on these same exact flights these two days. What happens if only one of us can get upgraded?

Thumbs up

Good luck you guys - must say you're very optimistic about January weather, not to mention the PHL factor - let us know how it worked out

Mr. Wonderful says... "You can have the seat, dear, but I want a drink and a green lime."

Ok, for those who are math challenged, how many preferred miles is this? Bonus miles? I'm assuming these are five different records.

What is the cost of this MR? Cost per Mile?

I would assume it's 30,000 actual and 25,000 Prefered miles, no? 500 per segment plus 20,000 bonus, with 500 actual mile CP match per segment. Maybe a few more if any segement is over 500, but not many

I think the cheapest it could be was about $380, or about 1.5 cents per mile Prefered mile, 1.3 cents per actual mile.

Move over and let the trained professionals in...

Yes, these are 5 separate PNR's (we did book each of these separately in separate PNR's even though we are travelling together... we just did the rez's while on the phone so we could get exit row seats together).

Here's the math lesson for the math challenged, er, l4pi.

10 segments, each under 500 mi, so the 500 min kicks in. Total base miles = 5000

Alysia and I are both GP, so that's a 100% bonus, so Bonus miles = 5000

The 5RT offer adds 20000 miles to the mix.

So, grand total for each of us = 5000 + 5000 + 20000 = 30000.

Fares were $78.20 X 3 and $76.70 X 2 for a total of $388.

So, cost per mile = 388 / 30000 = $0.012933/mi, which is pretty darn good from what I've seen on MR's. This would be for those are already CP or GP.

For SP, cost per mile = 388/27500 = $0.014109/mi

For non-preferred, cost per mile = 388 / 25000 = $0.01552 / mi

Plus you get instant SP for '06 out of the deal which makes this deal attractive.

So, now that you've seen the arithmetic, how many of you are going out before mid-February??

Those are my concerns. I hope this works for you, but snow in phl is usually later Jan and Feb. This might be good. ^

Not to be nit-picky but growing up in Philly I have to note - threat of snow from Dec. - Mar. with Jan. and Feb. being worst. No difference at all between those two months.

Nice try. But I beat you by an hour and picked up the fact that the bonus does not apply to Prefered miles, so it's only 25,000 Prefered miles and and extra .2 cents per mile, even for SP/GP/CP.

That's right. I computed actual miles, not just preferred. If I understand the T&C you get the bonus as actual or not? Can someone clarify?

This reminds me of the thread long ago where someone asked if we could get T&C's simplified so an 8th grader could read and understand it... I think we've found many people such as I who have graduate degrees can't make heads or tails of these sometimes.

We overlap on this one. As I will be CP, who wants to be my "companion" for this route? Do I hear any bidding?
