US Airways Cruises

Got an email this morning title "All cruises on sale"

4 nights for as little as $189 – that’s only $47 a night.

So check that out.

I am actually going on a cruise this holiday season and I called US Airways to see if I could get the hit and miles if I booked through them, and even with their 3 miles/$1 on balcony cabins promotion, I didn't think it was worth it to book through them: they were about $200 more expensive than our travel agent and I didn't think $200 was worth the ~12 000 miles + 1 hit that I'd be getting.

Thumbs down BEWARE of US airways cruises and their 110% Best Rate Guarantee.

BEWARE of US airways cruises and their 110% Best Rate Guarantee.

I spent the last hour on the phone debating my best rate claim. Their claim that the competitor (skyauction.com) required a "membership" made their price publicly unavailable. There is no "membership" required, but they do require "registration" in order to complete a booking. Just like travelocity and expedia do if you were to proceed with the booking, however you can see the detailed price before proceeding.

I told the supervisor to go ahead and cancel my booking, then he relented and refunded the difference. Not the 110%.

I really hate organizations like this and US Airways should be ashamed for partnering with such a low class outfit.
