I have 30 hits so far. I'm also waiting on 4 more that haven't posted: Barclay's Biz Card, Network Solutions, Wine Insiders, and Netflix.

Barclays didn't have my Dividend Miles # on the account so I have to wait until the next statement closes. Should be 11/10.

Network Solutions last year posted on the first Monday of the second month following the order. Should be 11/7.

It seems that Wine Insiders post on the first day of the second month following the order. Should be 11/1.

Anyone have any experience with Netflix??

I have 26 of 32 that have posted. I am waiting on:

Sharebuilder (10/6)
FTD (10/16) - received shipping conf. yesterday
Office Max (10/15)
Vinesse (will happen end of October)
Network Solutions (9/19)

Shopping Mall - Lancome (9/14) - there was a problem with this that was supposedly resolved. I contacted both the Shopping Mall and Dividend Miles on this. The letter says miles will be posted in 8-10 weeks. I also did a back-up hit with Staples (10/10) and that hasn't posted either. What is it with the Shopping Mall anyway? I never have had any trouble with it in the past and now.... twice!

Waiting to be completed are three car rentals, and four hotel stays. I also need to complete Share Miles. That should give me 40. My back-up hit will be with TD Ameritrade, Hilton points transfer (I would rather not do this) or Wine Insiders (not that I want their wine - Vinesse I like, Wine Insiders... not so much).

So, the only two I am concerned about are Sharebuilder and Network Solutions (I have both the screenshot and confirmation email from them).

Should almost be a gimme. It'll earn you another 20,000 miles. How much are those miles worth to you? Even at $50 per rental (and I'm sure you can do cheaper), that's 0.5c per mile.

The only danger you run into is if something doesn't post. Right now, you have two "buffer hits." If you do only two more, you'll need to make sure that every one of those hits remaining posts. I don't know Sixt that well, but among the others, the only one that makes me oogie is NS.

Is there anyone got bonus miles posting this week?

I haven't got bonus miles posting since Oct. 12... Should get another 10K for new hits I got since that time. Now that I'm a little worried... Anyone got bonus miles posted for this weeks sweep? Or everyone hadn't?

No sweep this week. They're scheduled for alternate weeks starting 9/28.

Also, welcome to FT.

Nope - he didn't get 2 hits, and we have 2 different computers. I never logged into his account on my computer. Will keep watching this one.

Aw, @#$%&@#. Trip to NYC cancelled this week, meaning I lose out on two hits. So much for an easy finish. Alas, more trips to the local Hertz dealers and the W Boston for dinner.

Question: If a failed hit is known as a "foul ball," does that make the 37th hit, or "insurance hit," a pinch hit?

I was having the same line of thought. If a trip materializes in the next two weeks (50/50) then I'll be stopping at 16 hits for $87.68. That's definitely worthwhile for me, since I can redeem 25k miles for a domestic ticket on United - something I personally do quite often and is easily worth $87.68 + ridiculous booking fees.

However, for my wife, she's going to stop at 12. The incremental value to her from going up to 16 buying "stuff" or renting cars isn't worth it. So she'll bank the 15k miles until another promotion pops up.

Mike
I would call that a hit that leaves a runner stranded on the bases (assuming you don't get 3 more hits to reach 40 total).

For me, a "pinch hit" would be when a friend or family member completes activity for a hit and leaves your US Air number so you get the credit instead of them.

Also, don't forget about "laying down a bunt" for a hit. I did that with the trivia when the poetry slam didn't post.

I have 11 hits posted(**) and am waiting on the other 8. I want to go for 800 flowers but don't want the foul ball and I don't want to order the book. So I haven't quite decided what to do about that one.

Just think of it as buying a hit, and go for the book.

Or order some peanut brittle instead. Costs $8 more, but you get 100 DM extra and something you might actually enjoy.
