2 Hotel Stays, Same activity Date

Very relieved to see that I will not need to contact DM . . . Marriott check-out date & Choice check-in date = same date for hotel stays. 36 hits done, 36 hits posted today.

[email protected] is the address I was provided for follow-up if needed. I had emailed both the hotel and WR using the form emails on their websites. I received a reply from WR only, not hotel. But they said they added the stay to my account. (I don't see it yet, but perhaps some batch process needs to run to update yet.)

Anyway, the customer service email is what I was provided if I had further questions. If you haven't had a reply yet from the web eail form at WR, maybe this cs email will help.

Thanks for replying. I did in the end email [email protected] and they confirmed they had credited my account and it would show within 72 hours, which it did. I just need it to post to DM next Wednesday and that will be my last and 36th hit!

Advice Please

I am waiting for one more hit to post. It will be #40. I stayed at a Sheraton in DC for four days in mid October. The hotel didn't ever give me the miles (or any credit at all). It's become sort of an ordeal to get it straightened out. Just for a kicker to all of this: I got food poisoning from the hotel stay in D.C and ended up in the hospital after my stay.

Call #1 on 10/30 to SPG customer service. Called and spent an hour + on the phone. Waited while the called the hotel. Was told the miles for the stay would post with in 7 business days.

Call # 2 on 11/13 CS says wait and be patient. Supervisor says "oops we never made the request". On phone for 1.5 hours. Promised they would post by 11/21. Given 2000 bonus SPG points for my trouble. After this call I can see that 734 miles are being sent to DM Direct transfer with an activity date of 11/13.

Call # 3 on 11/25. SPG "back up" supervisor tells me the points transfer was still pending as they were never put through "phase two" of the process. He says what was taken out on 11/13 will "never go through to DM". I tell him the activity date MUST be my stay date or at the least prior to 11/14. He says he will send an email to the people that "handle this" on Monday and he wont make any promises that the activity date will be correct.

Today I see that an additional 740 points out of my balance and transfers it to DM reading "rush transfer" the transaction date is 11/25. Also, the points I was told will never go through have still been subtracted from my account.

I will be calling Monday or Tuesday and I need advice as to how to climb the ladder and get this taken care of. I am new to SPG (and so far wholly unimpressed).

Thanks for any advice.

Best Western Posting Problem

I stayed at a BW on November 12, and the stay hasn't posted yet. Can anyone see anything wrong with this stay?

- Booked on BW website with BW account number
- Earnings preference set to miles; US number the only one registered
- Government rate, no more than 10% below the general rate
- Hotel was in New Zealand

Upon check-in, the front desk staff said they only credit miles to QF or NZ, however I see no such limitation indicated on the BW website.

What to do? And if credit is requested from the hotel or BW customer service, how to ensure that a November 12 (or 13) qualifying date is shown?

Activity Date for Marriott

So - I was checked into the Residence Inn by Marriott from 10/14/2011 - 11/17/2011. It showed up as 11/17/2011 activity date!! any way to contest this with US air?

It was well known that some chains were using checkout date as the activity date. I don't think you have a particularly strong argument if activity did actually occur on 11/17.

I assume it's not showing in your BW Online Statement page?

Once it shows up there, it can take up to a week to post to US.

If it's not there, go ahead and file a missing points request. Unfortunately I don't know how they process them; if they're submitted with the same data as an automatic posting, it should still show the checkin date as the activity. If they do them as manual adjustments, it may not.

This showed up yesterday on my account:
10/13/2011 11/28/11 STARWOOD PREFERRED GUEST ADD TRANSFER 732

Does anyone know if this would be considered either a hotel stay or a Points transfer?

What's annoying is that I checked out on 10/18 and then again on 11/17 but it's only showing one checkout.

I just got the bonus for La Quinta, which has the correct dates:
11/14/2011 11/29/11 LA QUINTA GRAND SLAM BONUS 2011 500

I hope this will supercede the error post for the original miles.

la quinta post the wrong date

11/14/2011 11/29/11 LA QUINTA GRAND SLAM BONUS 2011 500
11/17/2011 11/17/11 LA QUINTA MILEAGE AWARD 250

The stay is for 11/12 checkin for one night, and neither of the date is correct.

Should I contact us airways or la quinta to fix this?

I am waiting for 36 hit bonus
