UA and CO Fleet Tracking Thread

Hi everyone,
As discussed in the List of UA's grounded 733s, 735s, 747s (2008-2009) thread, I had planned to create a UA/CO Master Fleet Tracking thread for all of us fleet junkies to discuss the UA/CO fleet as it changes over time. Please do not ask for seating recommendations here, there are relevant threads for that discussion.

As of April 2011, we've also included discussion of the legacy CO fleet that has already started to become part of UA.

Current threads:
Information/Discussion of the Seating Updates to UA's International 777 Fleet [2011]

And here is the FlyerGuide Wiki page which is kept up to date on a regular basis:
United_Fleet_(UA)
Continental_Fleet_(UA)

Other helpful sites for fleet tracking/information:
http://skyliner-aviation.de/regdb.main?LC=nav4 (Skyliner Mag fleet updates)
http://www.airwaysmag.com/att.html?t...=145&junk=.pdf (Airways Mag North American fleet updates)

Here are some old threads that refer to specific topics (please keep relevant discussion there):
List of UA's grounded 733s, 735s, 747s (2008-2009)
List of UA's A320 Ted Paint/Interior Conversions

Please keep the discussion enjoyable!

Does anyone have any information backing up the contention on Wikipedia that 2 757s are stored at ROW?

Thanks for doing this! I saw that on Wikipedia today and wondered about it as well. I'm wondering if someone is getting one confused with the plane that was recently returned because the lease was up.

Either that or someone that works at ROW saw 2 planes there for service and/or painting and assumed they were "stored".

I think the confusion is that on some websites like airfleets.com I saw posted that N572UA was stored along with N531UA, which was the one returned in October. I don't think it's true though.

Indeed not true as it flew as UA0956 earlier today.

On an unrelated note, N572UA took me from DEN to SMF on April 19th and looked absolutely horrible! The white paint in the word "AIRLINES" on the left side of the plane was peeling away and was barely legible! I've noticed in photos that old color 757s specifically in the N57XUA range have this similar problem. Bad paint vendor?

Here's a sad shot of UA's new VCV hub

N221UA is in GSO right now... must be a mechanical check

And here's an interesting one... N849UA is currently flying SLC-ALB

Finally, N922UA (previously grounded in 2008) ferried VCV-GYR the other day:

It could very well be that they are being simply cleaned up since the p.s. fleet is a little shabby lately... and with N532UA up for release, who knows what might happen.

Speaking of N532UA, it appears that it's still for sale:

That's N444UA, an ex-Ted. Yet again, a.net is incorrect

I know that... That's a 777 and an A319, respectively. My previous comment was in reference to someone else's who has now disappeared regarding the p.s. fleet and their new seats.

For you fleet junkies, The 777 XI planes will become XJ, the 777 XP becomes 777 XQ, and 777 XC becomes 777 XD post-conversion.

And while I'm at it, here's a fleet flashback!

The classic seatmaps are great... fun to think back and remember favorite seats on airliners that are no more.

N795SK, a CR7, was delivered to SkyWest on Tuesday in UAX colors. Yet another CR7 - they seemingly take delivery of a new one every 1.5-2 weeks.

I didn't get the nose number, but at least one of the domestic 772s had the new leather seats in F. I don't know if it's possible to figure it out but it was UA34 on Jan 25.
