sponsored upgrade changes?
 

I sponsored an upgrade for a friend using SWUs.

In the past, the SWUs were deducted immediately and showed as reserved. On this particular itinerary, none of the segments cleared, so that might be difference. But after I sponsored it, there was a message in red that the SWUs would be deducted after the sponsoree flies the first segment, and are not showing as reserved under my upgrade history. After the upgrade the itin said something like NC_EUPGRADED or something strange like that. The sponsoree says it shows as waitlisted for them. (Normally it would just show as something like "waitlisted for NC", I think.)

Anyway, not having them deducted and not showing as reserved is different, isn't it? My balance still includes those 2 SWUs.

I sponsored a CR1 yesterday and it was properly deducted (and showed as reserved) although the flight was waitlisted.

Sponsored 3 CR-1s yesterday, not wait listed, but the CR-1s have not yet been deducted from my account

ok, never mind. Now they are showing up as reserved and deducted from my balance.

Not sure what the deal is, but I logged off and back on after doing the online sponsor thing and they were not deducted after I did it yesterday.

Dave, check again tomorrow, see if it updates.
