A better availability display!
It is from Galileo Deutschland. Go to http://www.aeroplan.de/home.htm and click on GALILEO CRS.
You have to fill in at least 3 boxes, but not all, depending on what you need. Abflughafen is origin. Zielhafen is destination. And you must fill in the date in European numerical order [1107 is July 11]. If you leave airline blank, you will see all airlines visible in Galileo [WN does not pay to be included and you won't see their flights, for example.] If you UNCHECK THE BOX LABELED -Klartextanzeige - you will see the actual display the way agents see it. The biggest weakness is that you cannot ask for further availabilities from the page that you pull up, i.e. flights later in the day or multisector itins. And you cannot specify time of day. But you're going to like it a lot better. Perhaps others may find a better one and if so, I hope that they will share with us. |
As far as I can see tho it only allows you to see flights STARTING in German cities? |
No. It's just like ITN and you can see any city pairs you enter.
I assume this aeroplan.de has nothing to do with Air Canada Aeroplan... |
Might be my eyesight. All I get in the fixed 'Abflughafen' (from) box are German cities and a few others like Zurich and Paris, Vienna etc. Try looking up Sydney or Toronto or Boston and tell me I am mistaken! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

But however the Zielhafen (to) box allows me to add whatever I choose to type in. |
I used to use this site all the time until the flyaow link came along. This site does have problems though - sometimes it will go bananas and show crazy dates like 2015 and meaningless info, or sometimes you'll see availabilities listed like FA YA BA CA (etc) which doesn't really help too much. However it is useful in that you can ask for JUST a specific booking class (eg: show me all flights with H class showing).
btw ozstamps, I don't think you're quite at the right part, as the to/from cities are just boxes where you can enter any valid 3 letter code. I used to do it to check AN-II flights. ------------------ RichardMEL, UA 1K A Star Alliance Member. |

Never mind... figured it out. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Save yourself time...this is the direct link:
http://www.aeroplan.de/ap_rb_galileo.htm I use it all the time, and it really works great. Keep in mind that this system is maintained over here in Germany (GMT+1), so if there are failures/crashes, it may not be corrected before the next day German time! If you are interested: Aeroplan is a tour-operator/consolidator here, mostly for USA-travel from Germany. They are about a block from my company's headquarter and a reputable company if you ask me. Greetings - Dirk |
My apologies for thickness. I was not clicking the GALILEO box at left, but looking and the boxes on front page only. Yes, a nice tool. The 747 flights from SYD next week July 7 (862/816) are WIDE open. Amazed me for July travel. Wonder why there are not some E-fares in recent weeks that aim to fill these? There were no Pacific Efares at all in today's email.

Same thing happened when I looked up a Lan Chile flight we have to Easter Island next month. SCL-IPC comes up as all "A". (and there is but ONE carrier does that route!)

Yep, and now I see another flaw.
Here is the display for that flight from aeroplan.de for Aug 18. SUN 18AUG02 SANTIAGO /EASTER ISLAN *LA 1 SCL IPC 1635 2010 LA 833 J4 D1 Y9 B9 H9 K9 M9 LC WC VC#763 B ]AM*LA ; ] SUN 18AUG02 SANTIAGO /EASTER ISLAN *LA NO MORE LATER FLTS 18AUG SCL IPC NO FLIGHTS THIS DATE AND/OR CITY PAIR ] NO PREVIOUS OR ORIGINAL REQUEST ******************************************** Here is my original display from Galileo Canada: *** LAN CHILE *** SUN 18AUG02 SANTIAGO /EASTER ISLAND *LA 1 SCL IPC 18/1635 2010 LA 833 J4 D1 Y9 B9 H9 K9 M9 L0 W0+763*C The + indicates that more classes are visible after typing a new entry, so I type the entry L[LA/A*C1 and ... *** LAN CHILE *** SUN 18AUG02 SANTIAGO /EASTER ISLAND *LA 1-SCL IPC 18/1635 2010 LA0833 J4 D1 Y9 B9 H9 K9 M9 L0 W0 V0 N0 O0 Q0 S0 END OF DISPLAY Thus, when a carrier has more than 9 booking classes, the last will not be visible. FlyerTalk comes to the rescue, again!
I've been trying to get myself rebooked on an earlier flight for tomorrow morning, Monday, July 8, for a long time--but all flights have been really oversold. I just checked availability on UA's site--the usual zeroes on the usual flights. Then, I used this great tool--which showed that an extra section (an 8XXX flight number) has been added. I called and had them change me onto the wide-open flight--too cool. I love FlyerTalk! |
