INTPY Fare basis code? Can anyone explain?
Greetings FTers,
I'm a relative newbie to the United forum, used to be more active over in Continental, but made the switch a while back to UAL due to a change of base and change of where I fly (mostly Asia, out of IAD). I have recently been given a ticket that was provided to my organization by UNITED (we have some sort of partnership with them). The fare basis code is listed is INTPY, in booking class T. After UAL gave me the confirmation number, I was able to insert my MP number, and get my seat assigned in E+, which is a relief, as it's an IAD - SIN itinerary, but I wanted to know: - will I earn miles? EQMs? - Any idea on change fees on the return? - I'm highly doubtful it's upgradeable, but since they are sending me through ORD on the outbound, wondering about using Eupgrade certs to at least start the trip in comfort. I've searched, both on the Forum as well as google, but haven't found anything. Thanks in advance for any information. |
What do you mean by "provided"? Did your company pay for it?
Booking class T is a discount revenue booking code. On international itineraries it is not upgradeable other than doing an upgrade for cash at the airport (if offered...would cost anywhere from $600-$1,000 depending on the route). T does earn miles and you would be able to upgrade the domestic segments using e-500's or other upgrade instruments. The only caveat to all this is... if this was some kind of free ticket that UA gave to your company it may have mileage earning restrictions. But since it's T you should be able to upgrade the domestic segments. |
