Viewing itinerary on viewtrip.com

I just booked and ticketed a reservation with UA... but I can't pull up my reservation on viewtrip.com using the UA PNR, any ideas why?

I want to keep track on how my upgrade requests are going...

Viewtrip is only good for Apollo booked itins, not UA booked ones - you will have to go to "My Itineraries" on the UA webpage to track your itin.

Thanks Eastbay1K, the thing is I didn't book with my Mileage Plus number [used my Aeroplan number]. Last time I booked on UA's website, I was able to see my itinerary on viewtrip.com.

The website books through ITN which is technically a travel agency (correct me someone if I'm wrong here) which is why it may be viewable. However, on the phone with UA directly is not.

I thought UA used the Apollo system for any reservations. Didn't they develop it?

viewtrip.com claims that both Apollo or Galileo PNR should work. So I am not sure whether UA is using something else.

I'm pretty sure I remember at least a few threads on this subject. I seem to remember that, for whatever reasons, itineraries booked on ual.com did not show up on these websites. If you called up UA and booked a trip it would show up on these websites. A search might yield better results than what I've offered.

Apollo/Galileo is the same thing essentially. UA just restricts their PNRs after ticketing from viewing by other sources is what I think happens.

I think East Bay 1k is right (even if you are on the wrong side of the bay! :-) ) I have been able to see my trips on viewtrip only until they are ticketed, then they disappear.

I can now see my reservation on viewtrip.com. Don't know why I can't see it before.

The weirdest thing was seeing "Waitlisted for Connoisseur class". Brings back memories of UA's old C class! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

Hmm....Made two reservations with the 1K international desk. One is for award travel on UA. The other is for award travel on NZ. They are both being held at the moment. But I can see both of them on viewtrip.com

Interesting... I bought two tickets at a CTO last week and I am able to view both of them on viewtrip.com. I hope this is a permanent change.

Wow, very cool.

A trip ticketed on ual.com shows up on viewtrip.com

A RTW ticketed with SQ shows up on viewtrip.com

A trip ticketed on the telephone with the UAL 1K Res. line shows up on viewtrip.com

Two separate award travel tickets, booked on LH using UAL M+ miles show up on viewtrip.com

I'm on a flight to LHR in May, and I just checked out the res. on ViewTrip. According to the site, I'm "CONFIRMED FOR PROMOTION CLASS". Anyone have a clue what that means?

My guess is the fare I bought was a promotional fare. My wish would be that it means they are planning to "promote" me to business class... <grin>

I just checked my itinerary as well, and some of my segments had "Confirmed for Promotion Class" as well. I was wondering what this meant. I doubt that my fare was promotional, so I'm confused...
