Air New Zealand MP accrural
Hi all,
Anybody any experience at earning MP RDM and EQM on 'GLOBAL SAVER MAX FARE' between LHR and HKG?
The Air New Zealand booking page states:
'GLOBAL SAVER MAX FARE
Air New Zealand operated flights are eligible for Airpoints Dollars accrual but do not accrue frequent flyer miles/points with airline partners; other sectors may be eligible for accrual of Airpoints Dollars or frequent flyer miles/points'
I cannot find out what booking class this books into but ua.com states 100% miles for Y B E H M N O Q T U V W booking classes?
Any experts out there!?
Thanks

With regarding to MP accrual on N, T class and higher accrue UA MP miles, G S L K do not.

The name of the fare is infinitely less important that the actual booking class. I just booked a reservation over the phone with Air NZ and I told them specifically "T class or higher to accrue United miles" and they knew exactly what I wanted.
I've also found by by using their website to try and book tickets, it is hard to know exactly what class you are booking into, so I find it best to call to be sure. With that many miles at stake, I want to make damn sure I get the right ticket.
Good luck.

Global saver max books into LGSK thus non-earning on all FFPs (except on longhaul they are earning to NZ Airpoints but non-earning for all other FFPs).

OK I may be in the same boat as ivoryboi was. I have purchased a VALUE FARE via ANZ website. Reading the description, I thought I'd get MP credit no problem.
However, my E-tkt receipt shows L-class for the longhaul seg's. Reading the UA link from marinersdave post has put me in a panic.
Can anyone provide more info? Esp. since the UA link also reads, "The miles accrued are determined by the operating airline. Please note that the booking class shown on your ticket may differ from the booking class relevant for mileage accrual." I called MP and the lady told me (in a heavy Indian accent), of course you will earn EQM/RDM on Air New Zealand, they are a *Alliance partner.

Air New Zealand - No EQM?
I am flying SFO - AKL on Air New Zealand. This is over 12,000 miles round trip, aparently I don't get any credit for this because I am in K outbound and S coming back. Can this be true?
If this is true, why bother being part of the alliance?

You should be familar with the mileage earning charts for any airline you fly. For NZ, it's here: http://www.united.com/page/article/0,,1181,00.html.
Be glad UA gives its own members 100% for all fares - most airlines don't even do that.

I have purchased on Air new Zealand's website before, and it makes it quite clear if the fare is mileage earning or not.
Always refer to the above chart though, to be sure.
So you can pay a bit more and get the miles, plus other perks.

I just looked at the chart, that is how I figured it out.

On Air NZ, LGSKP are non-earning on all partner programs. If you sign up to NZ airpoints you will get 80 airpoints dollars each way.
