Does UA MP offer a program similiar to the "challenge" of AA?

I have a business trip HNL-MCO (via DEN) in Oct that will yield me close to 10K BIS miles. Does UA MP offer a "challenge" similair to AA's one to fast track to Elite status? If they do, please let me know who to contact in regards to registering for this. If I can fast track with another 5K miles, I will do a mileage run and be set for next year as I have several business trips already planned for next year. My company books corporately on UA.

Let me know FT'ers.

Thanks,
FlyboyHNL

Every time I log into Egencia I see this - give them a call...

The Mileage Plus Elite Status Match Program* will match the elite status you hold with a participating competitive airline, up to Premier Executive (1P). This program is available to new or existing members, provided you have not previously received a status match.

Just print, complete and fax this form, along with documentation showing your elite status on another airline carrier to the Mileage Plus Customer Service <snip>

I have never seen a UA challenge, I have seen a status match though.

Correct. It is not a challenge, it's a match. The match requires a certain amount of miles to be flown within a given timeframe to maintain the status which was offered by UA. Once that threshold has been crossed, status will not expire until the end of the program year.

Correct, here is the fine print:

*Rules and Restrictions may apply. You will receive elite matched status in Mileage Plus for a 90 day period, or thru December 31, 2009 whichever is sooner. During this 90 day period, you must complete a specific amount of paid qualifying miles on United, United Express or Ted flights to retain the elevated status. The specific amounts of paid qualifying miles or segments are as follows: Premier/2P = 7,500 Flight Miles OR 10 Flight Segments Premier Executive/1P = 15,000 Flight Miles OR 18 Flight Segments

Or just get the entire form (PDF) here. (The URL reflects Egencia's previous name, Expedia Corporate.) The form includes the number it's faxed to:

Might be some useful info here (although the first post seems a bit dated):
