Not sure why everyone gets this wrong... IT IS NOT $800 dollars! If you are IDB'd, you are entitled to double the fare paid for that segment ONLY up to $800. In 99% of cases, you're better off with the vouchers

This is what is currently on the Federal Register 14 CFR Part 250:
§ 250.5 Amount of denied boarding
compensation for passengers denied
boarding involuntarily.
(a) Subject to the exceptions provided
in § 250.6, a carrier to whom this part
applies as described in § 250.2 shall pay
compensation to passengers denied
boarding involuntarily from an oversold
flight at the rate of 200 percent of the
fare (including any surcharges and air
transportation taxes) to the passenger’s
next stopover, or if none, to the
passenger’s final destination, with a
maximum of $800......

Customer relations does not have a working phone number for prem exec anymore (as i was told by res) - is this true with 1K also? I emailed them and hopefully I'll get a reply tomorrow.
