PJs in first suite?
I realize I'm embarrassing myself by asking this but I've got first booked for a trip to Australia soon and I've never been in a first suite. I did do a search, but didn't find my answer. I'm wondering does anyone change clothes to go to sleep? Do people put on pajamas or nightgowns?
I'm so excited about this that I keep telling my husband and son that I'm going to stroll through coach and biz in my nightgown just so everyone knows I have a bed in first. Yes, I have no pride. Yes, they're looking for a new travel companion. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/redface.gif |

US does not provide PJs in United First Suite. You'll find PJs on other airlines such as CX and SQ which also has a flat bed in their F cabins. If I am sitting in First where there is a flad bed, then I usually change into sweat pants or at least change my shirt--wear a loose fitting t-shirt to get comfortable and stretch out; this is depending on the route--I only do this on the long-haul pacific routes. I don't know about ladies changing into a night gown with robes, etc. This might be a bit too much.

Pjs are not available, but that shuld not prevent you from wearing a change of sleeping clothes. I will often get into a lightweight pair of pants and a sweatshirt to lie down for a few hours. Have a blast and be sure to grab a few bottles of the great wine down there.

I always bring a pair of sweatpants and a turtle neck of polo shirt for the flight. I do that even in business class.

I say go for it! I only wish I could be on the plane watching you stroll down the aisle in a gown. The look on the flight attendant's faces would be worth it alone.
On a more serious note, I've flown upper class on Virgin SFO - LHR and they provided a sleeper suit to everyone in first. I'll never forget either, as all 12 of us changed into identical outfits (this was when they were very high quality - I still have mine) and went to sleep. If only we could have had a picture of this. It makes a huge difference to change into sleeping clothes and change back upon arrival - you feel a lot more refreshed. Have a blast! ------------------ |
Although it is not at all a private experience, the pax in first are relaxed and tolerant enough so that just about anything goes (in F), once the shades are pulled. That being said, sweats are about as far as I would go.
BTW, on the 744, you will have the most privacy in rows 1 or 2. |
Perfectly acceptable.
Especially the bunny ones. |
Qantas actually gives you a "sleepsuit" in First Class. Dark blue light sweats with a Qantas logo on the shirt. Quite comfy, one size (big) fits all. Wear that and stroll through the cabin and most people will know you're in First!

I wear my pajamas EVEN when I'm in coach!!! (oh god, i just admitted I fly in back)
Blair help me, I think I need to join an "Economy Plus Annonymous" group... EEK! "Hi, I'm Nate, I wear pajamas in Economy!" |
jasonheard, the virgin PJ's are still excelent - I took to pairs home with me.
Be carefull you dont let the bottoms of your PJ's ride down, can be very embarasing for the other pax to see your white ... poke out of the duvet http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif |
jongar, isn't it an "arse" if you are flying on Virgin???
|
I usually wear my gold chains and nothing else. "Can someone rub my feet, please?"
|
yes it was my arse, but i have been in NYC for 5 weeks now, its bound to have an affect
