LAX-NRT Loads lately?
I will use a buddy pass on 891 LAX-NRT in less than two weeks.
My sponsor told me the flight is booked over in coach by 30-40! They've done that as they'll then upgrade people to C but that only has between 15-20 empty on those days. Now new 747 has only 52C seats total... He doesn't take LA flights, so he doesn't really know "No Show" factor. That's what he told me.
I have another UA FA friend who worked on LAX-NRT yesterday told me the flight was booked over in Y by 20, but she said she saw spotty empty seats in Y. She said maybe I should try LAX-NRT, but then probably I won't know until the last minutes...
I already have a confirmed seat NRT-BKK the next day, so I really need to take the flight or try one of SFO-NRT flights. SFO is just very inconvenient for me both money-wise and time-wise.
Does anybody have experience with using buddy pass on the route lately?

It's gonna be very difficult to impossible. PM me with details and I'll walk you through the steps I take if applicable. Some people are really hostile to NRSA's and people who fly on buddy passes here so talking in private should work smoother. Make sure you PM me by tomorrow before I move into an Internet dead zone :P

I flew it about 2 weeks ago and E+ was not full, though E- was.
I think SFO-NRT has a better chance of showing up with empty seats since there are two flights in the day.

LAX will probably be tough - PM me for details if you like. I'd would probably try SEA-NRT.
