From what I gathered, John Tague (UA President) was speaking at an MRO conference that @flightblogger was attending, so he probably spilled the beans there.

I can't believe there hasn't been any leaked pictures yet.... I really, really, really want to see it!

I was allowed to take pics before the inaugural flight of N647UA (the 767 IPTE prototype) with a verbal NDA to disclose them only after the UA press release. The pics were not leaked to anyone. I suspect anyone who has pics is either an employee and/or is under similar restrictions.

Wasn't N794UA supposed to be repainted into the new livery after being converted? Is that still happening?

LHR to DEN

What do you think my chances are of getting a reconfigured 777 for LHR to DEN and back at the end of June?

Reasonable, given the current expected route of SFO-LHR-DEN-SFO, although this is obviously subject to change.

Assume your chances are zero. Then you'll be pleasantly surprised if it happens.

Yes, it is still happening. A little bit of flying before it heads over to Korea to the paint shop.

Damn UA for not having Wi-Fi fleet wide (or at the very least on this brand new config)! We would have had many CaptainBilly on board reports by now.

What the hell would be the point of adding Wifi capability to the international fleet?? It would only work over the continental US! Remember, Boeing ax'd Connexion years ago after only a few carriers signed up.

With the right satellites, there's no reason it couldn't be supported worldwide. Latency would be terrible, but some people already use satellite Internet.

I'm about 95% sure that gogo (the inflight wifi folks) use cellular base stations rather than satellites... which is part of the reason it's continental-US only.

That's for now, but who knows what the future holds?
