MSNBC: UA flight 615 makes emergency landing

Just caught this: MSNBC is reporting that a UA flight from DCA to ORD diverted to PIT and made a safe landing after a supposed hydraulic failure according to staffers for Sen. Roland Burris, who was aboard the flight. According to flightaware, it was UA615. http://flightaware.com/live/flight/UAL615

No, direct flight with one stop and one flight number.

I am actually pretty sure that this is the answer, btw.

I've been on diverted and continued flights many times. Original miles, only.

better than the beloved ex-governor

but seriously, wondering if it could have been a compressor stall...
"[Burris] described it as a loud bang and then a pretty deafening noise once they were airborne,'' O'Connor said.

If you want to extra miles, can't you claim duress in the diversion and make a case for the...5 miles?

Actually, the mechanical issue was on an A319. The replacement aircraft that finished the flight (PIT-ORD) was a 737-300.

In this scenario, the old 737 was the hero.
