Flight Cancelled, Can only get me nearby airport (140) Miles
 

Was scheduled to arrive in PSC at 2:00ish. After the flight cancellation (mechanical) the closest they can get me today is to GEG and suggested that I rent a car and drive the remainder. Flights to SEA and PDX were full so no connections via QX.

What should compensation should I request, Rental Car reimbursement? miles?

You won't get reimbursement for the rental car. Don't believe anyone at the airport or on the phone who says you will. I've been bitten by this twice.

Ask for a full refund for that portions plus some miles for your account.

Yep.. that's how you get reimbursed for your rental car. :)

dartagnan, I had to laugh as thats exactly the Res agent suggested (calling in afterward and getting reimbursed for the car.)

UA0407 DEN SEA 0603P 0753P
AS2100 SEA PSC 1020P 1110P

UA has some seats, AS appears wide open.

looks like a solution. Maybe OP could hit the RCC and get an agent to book that flight

When we did the rebook two-step at about noon CST, the CSR wasn't able to grab a seat on 407. And not sure about AS2100, for some reason the last flight she has listed to PSC was AS 2110

It's there if you want to get re-rebooked.

There is also an AS flight DEN-SEA (wide open) but that leaves at 5:10p.

Its times like this where I find having access to KVS or a similar tool invaluable, rather than hoping you get an agent that will really check for all available options you can empower yourself with the needed information and then tell them what flights you want to be re-booked on.
