Fare Basis code vs, Booking class

I was looking at my itinerary and just noticed that it now shows both the Fare Basis Code (C for return and CXIN for outbound, I wonder what the difference is) and Booking Class (XC) separately.

Does anyone know for certain whether the meal priority list keys off fare basis or booking class? Just wondering.

Well, usually, the fare basis code is related to the amount of money you pay, and the various restrictions regarding refunds, time of travel, etc.

Booking class refers to the cabin you're in. In your case, XC means a free award ticket in business class.
