Is an annual E+ purchase worthwhile?
For years I was 1P or 2P with UA and got used to looking at the E+ seat map before purchasing a ticket, making sure I could get an E+ aisle before buying. Now that I have lost my elite status with UA I'm wondering about purchasing an annual E+ subscription as my wife and I will likely be taking a couple of cross continental trips on UA this year. If I do so, will I be able to see the E+ seat map before buying and reserve an E+ aisle seat?

Yes, you would be able to see the E+ seat map and select whatever seats are avilable except exit rows.
If you are taking a few transcons it is def worth it. Make sure to sign up for DEQM so you can get close to 2P. |
Is it worth it? It depends, I guess. I only fly NYC-SFO so I just book the p.s. flights to/from JFK and I automatically get economy plus. If you're in my situation, economy plus access will do you absolutely no good whatsoever-you'll get economy plus regardless, even though .bomb insists that I have to pay to get it.
If you book early enough it's not uncommon to see fares as low as $340 round trip. |
350$ = e+ access
800$ flight to australia during DEQM = 2P status |
