Slightly different question about united.com:

Where do you check for your 500-mile upgrades? It's not on the MP page.

Thanks in advance to anyone with the 411. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Here's something I wish they would change about the seat selection: I wish they would indicate which seats are blocked versus which seats are taken. As the plane fills up the middle seat is often blocked off but I have no way of knowing if its taken or just blocked off for an premier member.

Anything that increases the chance of having an empty middle seat is helpful.

Two people traveling together presumably take the window and the aisle, so it's probably a block (especially in Y+/Premier Zone). Most of the United flights I've been on this year [with 3-across seating] have either been 70% full, in which case practically all middle seats were empty, or 100% full, in which case all middle seats were taken.

I would just pick any seat you like, and not worry about it.

It's definitely a change for the bad.
I just made a reservation through ual.com and noticed that they don't show the price for the different segments anymore as they used to do.
That's another bad change! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif

I miss the ease of easysabre & the functionality of United Connection. Both were easy to use. Easysabre was mostly text based & usually loaded fast.

To Axelerator: Use ual.ca to get pricing of segments that used to be on ual.com. ual.ca is the Canadian version of ual.com & will price segments in both Canadian $ & US $.

I've been using United's web site for over 3 years and I am greatly saddened by the apparent falling apart of ual.com. It used to be easy to try out several routings by just going back a page or two, but now it seem I have to redo itenaries every single time, especially if I'm trying minor variation of routings. I wonder if that was the purpose--to get us to stop looking around for cheaper routings (or at least routings that will allow us to earn more miles per dollar)??

Ual.com used to be one of the better airline web site and now, it's quite embarassing. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif And that plus the fact that United Connection is going away just when I was meaning to try it out is making it even sadder. I truly have very hard time believing that they think their web site is so good enough we can do without United Connection. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif As it is, the web site is going *backward* instead of forward. Looking at their interface for booking flights almost make me want to go over there and reengineer the whole thing (I'm software engineer who work with ecommerce software).

I'm still sticking with UA for now, but I have to think about switching to AA...as much as I hate to go over there. Does anyone know whether it's as easy to upgrade on AA's international flights as on UA's international flights? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

LIH Prem. Try the fare listings feature at Travelocity. You can limit which airlines (1, 2 or 3 or all) for fare basis codes/prices. I do this all the time to check UA fares on my primary routes.
