United Connection Software Functionality Issues

If you’ve been having problems performing functions or easily completing transactions with United Connection software, we’d like you to know that we are aware of some technical issues that need to be addressed. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you and we appreciate your patience while we work on resolutions.
This message was posted on the United Information section of version 3.0 about one year ago.

It pleased all of us that UA said they are working on a software upgrade.

Has any announcement been made of an availability date of the "resolutions" (new software version?)?

I believe everyone here appreciates and actively uses the product and wants UA to continue to support and upgrade it.

I attempted to access my united.com reservation for a flight tomorrow. Tried for 15-20 minutes to bring it up and couldn't even get as far as the system accepting my MP number and password.

This was the first ticket I've booked on the web. This was the last ticket I'll book on the web. Only did it in the first place to get the 3,000 bonus miles. UACNXN 3.0, desite its faults, has spoiled me for anything else...

I was so frustrated by this and all of my other experiences on the web, I finally broke down and wrote a letter to United about how they need to update the CNXN software...

I urge all of you who use the software to do the same...Take 10 minutes and write UA. If enough of us speak out, maybe they just might do something!

I still use UC 3.0 via TCP/IP from a Windows 2000 (NT5) computer. It works fine for making reservations. Viewing Mileage Plus mileage summary displays incorrect flight dates.

However, there have been several instances during the past several months when lower fares (not weekend e-fares) were available for selected Shuttle markets on United.com that were not available via UC 3.0, Travelocity or the other booking engines.

Unfortunately, UC cannot be trusted. I always check it, but only book on it about 25% of the time. I use the website about 65% of the time, and other means 10%. If you take the time, and know the system, the website is almost always MUCH cheaper. The only major advantage of UC for me is the ability to reserve tix, and then ticket later at the airport using coupons or vouchers.

I spoke with the UC support people due to a problem. I was told there would be no further updates or distribution of existing software. Sounds like they want us all to go the Web and eventually, UC will be discontinued. Too bad.

I've been using UC 3.0 successfully for 9+ months. Over the last few days I have been unable to access the reservation system, receiving the following message:, "Logon error: Account already logged om. Please call UC Helpdesk."

Has anyone else experienced this error message and/or has UC been working ok for you recently?

Somehow, your last session got interupted. You really do need to call them. They will re-set your session and get you back in service right away.

This is one of those very rare occasions when an error message actually meant what it said and said what it meant.

Agree with mahjongguy In fact, make it very easy on yourself and the support folks. When they answer simply say "My computer crashed while I was logged in and I need you to re-set my account; my account # [which is your MP #] is .... and my name is ...." Takes maybe 30 seconds.
