United stuck in the mud
A United 737 from DEN-ORD slid off a runway at ORD. I actually heard this "breaking news" (according to News4 in Denver) while waiting at DEN this afternoon.
It looks like this was UA 256. The flight status is... "Arrived at gate 4:59pm (25 minutes early)" "Gate: N/A" |
I know the crew who was in the cabin for this flight. You would think that running off the tarmac into the mud with a huge thump (and it was a huge thump, or several huge thumps) would cause passengers to at least consider evacuating.....however it seems the first impulse for many was to immediately grab the mobile phones and start gabbing!

I probably should not be laughing at this, but what basenji wrote really makes me laugh and think about some people's values are.
|
They were calling their bookies to place bets on how long they'd be stuck there.
|
Actually they were just doing the same thing they were most likely during the safety demonstration... talking and not paying attention!!
|
I try and avoid UA at all costs since they always seem to be interrupting my life with delays and cancellations. Well, I didn't even fly them yesterday and they caused a 1 1/2 delay on my AA flight. Thanks UA...you went out of your way this time!!!!

chicAAgo-
I can think of at least three times in the recent past where I've been delayed because AA has run off the runway or gotten stuck - twice in ORD in the past year and once in SEA where the AA aircraft was stuck for quite some time..... |
