Even if it is, it's not Platinum.

How It Works

I did this last year, but it was 35,000 RDM miles and 15,000 EQM when I signed up.

You apply and get 30,000 RDM miles, and 5,000 more + 5,000 EQM after you spend your first $200.

You earn 1 RDM per mile spent and 2RDM per mile spent on groceries, gas, or anything United.

You can then convert the RDM miles earned on the card into EQM miles, up to 100,000 per year, worth 10,000 EQMs. This includes the initial 35,000 RDM.

Each year their after you can convert up to 100,000 RDM earned on the card for EQM at the same ration 10,000 RDM gets you 1,000 EQM. They must be earned on the card, not earned by flying or other promotions.

So to get the 10,000 EQM, you must spend between $50,000 and $100,000 on the card.

Not worth converting to EQM in my opinion, but worth it for the RDM miles.

One of my children also received this-here's the info on ours-the Promo code at the bottom of ours is MPF219-the link appears to be the same as the one posted earlier

• 40,000 bonus miles after your first $250 in purchases
• 5,000 EQM after your first purchase
• 5,000 EQM maximum each year from purchases at united.com2
• 5,000 EQM after $35,000 in purchases each year
• 2 miles per $1 spent on United® and Star Alliance® purchases
• 2 miles per $1 spent on groceries, dining, gas at the pump, and home improvement purchases
• 1 mile per $1 spent on all other purchases

http://united.com/chase says the limit is 50,000.

Elevated status
Reach Mileage Plus elite status faster by redeeming up to 50,000 miles earned with your Mileage Plus Visa toward 5,000 Elite Qualifying Miles (EQM).

The offer I got was similar to the OPs. 15,000 EQM first year, 10,000 EQM each year thereafter. Maybe its a once a year special.

I took my 5,000 EQM upfront and wasn't interested in, nor needed the rest. So I never looked at it again.

todorovic Mar 11, 2009 2:30 pm

Actually, the 10,000 EQMs each year are supposed to come from ticket purchases on united.com (up to 5,000 EQM at 1EQM/$ spent) and from spending more than $35,000 in a calendar year (fixed 5,000 upon reaching the limit). If you convert 50,000 so called Choices (RDMs from your credit card) you can get another 5,000 EQMs.

Not quite. The card gives you 1 EQM per dollar spent on UA/UX tickets purchased on united.com, up to 5K EQM annually, plus a bonus of 5K EQM when you reach an annual spend (from any and all sources) of $35K. To earn 10K EQM per year beyond the initial 5K EQM bonus, then, you can spend as "little" as $35K.
