A quick Premier Eexecutive question

Please excuse this question if it's been asked recently. After flying 50,000 miles on UA this year will I become a Premier Executive member after I reach that 50,000 mile level or will this status take effect on Januaery 1, 2002? Thanks.

right away (after the miles post on your account) you will be 'registered' with the new status (valid until feb-2003).

from then on you will get already 100% mileage bonus , etc. etc. for all future flights (even for same day flights that post after you reached the 50'000 limit)..

That's super Rudi. As I'l be in the middle of a trip when I reach the 50,000 mile level it will be nice to get the double miles bonus as I fly home.

And do not forget to call UA rez on each future reservation you already hold and have them reenter your M+ number. That way it will show your new status.

Hopefully, your flights will post in the correct order. When became 2P the first time, the status should have kicked in at the end of flight #2 of 4. But the flights actually posted 4,1,3,2 It made a slight difference in the 25% bonus miles, but not enough to take it up the ladder at MP -- the first two CSR's I talked to at MP said that status was granted on segments/miles as they were posted, not as they were flown.

[Edited to reflect that I meant the 25% bonus for Premier, which is why it was only a handful of miles on a Shuttle flight. Otherwise, I utterly agree with the next post in this thread and would have pursued it if it had been many more miles]

If it really makes a big difference in miles, I'd make a case of it. No matter who says computers rule, there's always a human somewhere who can override. When it made a difference to me on making 1K on the cutoff day for the gift, initial resistance was quickly overcome. Flight dates governed. Just makes sense IMO.
