Maybe the more $$ will allow them to enforce the "Club atmosphere" dress code on the mice as well. That would be a hoot!

I'm sure some will be horrified that I wear jeans & a t-shirt to Ruth's Chris...but I'm comfortable in it, I usually wear a blazer over the top and the jeans probably cost more than a 2-3 pairs of khaki's (if money's the issue here). *shrug*

I wear what I wear not only because it's presentable, but it's also the most comfortable. I actually can't stand wearing jeans. I find khakis' (pleated) are much more comfortable. Jeans are constricting and don't give you the "room" you need (okay, okay, too much information, I know). I'd sit on an 11 hour flight in khakis over jeans any day! ^

By the way, my khaki's cost less than $25/pair at the gap outlet stores, so I save money too!

Finally, someone who agrees with me!!!! I get so much flak from people for not waring jeans!

But, to stay on topic, I never see any sort of dress code enforced, I saw someone the other day in a tank top and shorts, must have been from/to Hawaii.

As long as people don't smell, I am happy.

These places will be $100/person, people are there for their anniversary, and the dude next to you comes in with jeans and a metallica t-shirt (Yes, personally witnessed at Gary Danko!). It is just disrespectful to others when people look like they have recently emerged from the mountains without food, water, & showers for the past 3 weeks.

Wearing a pair of jeans and t-shirt equates to looking like someone recently emerged from the mountains without food, water, and showers for three weeks ?

If you do not agree with management of Gary Danko welcoming folks in jeans and t-shirts (as per your description), perhaps you need to look for alternative venues to spend your fine dining dollars ?

So its ok for you to wear what you find presentable and comfortable. But you think that others who find jeans and tshirts comfortable and presentable and wear the same to Gary Danko or perhaps even on a flight are disrespectful of others ?

I felt the same way as a teenager, and then I discovered baggy and boot cut jeans and have gone jeans ever since. :D

Done plenty of business deals in Hawai'i and tucking the Tommy Bahama shirt in is definitely not what most of the business execs do. In fact, first time I did a demo in Hawai'i the local sales exec made sure I knew NOT to wear a suit/tie.

Dress code is, to quote Pirates of the Caribbean, more of a "guideline" than anything else. What we need to do is not pass judgment on others based on our own beliefs.

Topic check: RCC Dress Code?

Plenty of other threads about "dress codes" on planes/meetings/whereever.

Thanks for your cooperation.

Agreed, there are some really comfortable jeans out there - and a lot of them can take a real beating. I always wear jeans when flying these days.
