Lounge Availability on Arrival IAD/LHR

I've never really understood UAL rules on utilizing the lounge upon arrival of a international flight. For instance, I'm traveling business on an award ticket from IAD to LHR overnight. When I arrive at LHR, can I utilize the lounge to get organized, have coffee, shower, etc.? If so, how do you access it after going through customs, immigration, etc? Thanks for any help.

As you are on an XC ticket, you can use the RCC at IAD ... one in the C gate area and another in D gate area, depending on which is closest to your departure gate. At LHR, you can use the *A Arrivals Lounge. Go through immigration and customs, when you come out into the departures area, look for signs for UA, SAA lounge ... it's basically over to the your right. Take the elevator (lift) to the second floor and go through a couple of doors, and you're there. Take a shower, and have some brekkie (cold or hot) and get yourself sorted before heading into London or wherever you're going.

Also, there is only one lift that goes to the 2nd floor. You have to take the far right lift.

No, C, F, XC, XF only if you are 1k. GS has access on any fare.

Any first class (including NF) will do, or non-heavily-discounted biz (C/D/XC).

Good point on the discounted fares.

The answer is the same, though, for a 1k traveling in NC. Nope.

DEN: RCC + 2 drink chits + wifi card
LHR: Nothing on arrival, but if the LHR-CPT is on SA in C (J?) class, your son can use the *A departure lounge in T1.

What if you're a RCC member doing IAD-LHR in Y, can you use the arrival Lounge?

No, unless the pax is GS.

I remember reading that *G or any pax in C can use the arrivals lounge since it is not a UA Arrivals Suite?

Can anyone confirm from past visits.

I thought that as a 1K, I could use the arrivals suite, regardless of COS. I'm travelling in Y in a few weeks with my father and it would be nice to get a shower.

Does anyone have any recent experience?
