Baggage fee
 

I booked a round trip flight from alb to aua for 1/30/09 on united using miles, on 3/19/08. On 8/9/08 united called and said the leg from wash/dulles to aruba was cancelled and the only choices were to be put on a usairways flight on 1/29/09 or 1/31/09. I chose the 1/29/09 flight and my confirmation reply says date issued 8/9/08. Will I have to pay the 1st bag fee because date of issue is after 7/9/08 or do you think they will wave the fee because it was originally booked on 3/19/08.

I think your ticket is considered part of an internationary itinerary and as such you are allowed two free checked pieces of baggage. In any case, if you bring your original confirmation when you check in, the TA should see the logic of your reasoning.
