Aircraft Seating Guide
A friend picked up a new United "Aircraft Seating Guide" at a CTO in S.F. and mailed it to me. It is pretty impressive, easier to read than the seat maps in the Worldwide Timetables (paper or pc-based) or the web-site. It is a 5 page (A4 size?), fold-out guide and has large maps for 30 different aircraft. It has a dark blue cover with the words "Stretch out and Fly". It is copyrighted in 2000 and has a document number (back cover, lower right) of 974 1067 BR 752.

A person whose name does not match his status sent me one of those babies about a month ago. It rocks my world. It has its own special place next to my timetable and route map http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

A little while ago, one of our number (sorry, forgot who for the moment) scanned the entire folder and posted the files for downloading. They print very nicely. A search might pickup the posting stating the website where they were uploaded.

It was Neal who scanned and posted the guide. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum50/HTML/001822.html
Very helpful if you can't get your hands on a glossy compact version. |
This sounds like a neat thing to add to my UA stuff here. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif
I won't be in the USA for another month. I asked UA here, who have no idea about this brochure. Does anyone know WHAT area/department of United I could write or email to try and have them post one? Thanks |
Tried to get it from the old thread but couldn't. Is it still up?

Yep, it's up! Thank you, Warrenlm and Neal!
|
Could someone please post the link to it. I still can't get it from the old thread. Thanks
|
Checked it again. Still works by clicking on the link in the post. If you get to the website OK, follow Neal's instructions for login.

dcpremex -- Below is copied from the Neal's post in another thread:
Instructions are as follows: Go to http://www.photoisland.com Go to "Guest Login" Enter "nealmill" as user ID Enter "United" for password Hint: when you click on a thumb nail and it opens up to a larger image, click on "show original size" or "view original" to get a much larger and much better image. |
Thank you, transpac! Got mine...
It would be really nice (hint, hint) if UA would make seat maps available in PDF (particularly to replace those horrid .bmp files in the Electronic Timetable, but they'd be most welcome on the web site as well). Take a look at http://www.sfgate.com/maps/ to see how effective PDF can be for delivering vector-based artwork. |
There were some of these sitting on one of the "newspaper" tables at the Denver RCC-East this evening. I picked up one (or maybe two http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif ) which will get some use.

Sound neat! Would be happy to reimburse post if you have a spare copy. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

I've got a few ancient ones of these (circa 1982-1984). Funny how things change...It's with smoking sections, 1-class 737's & 727's, 2-4-2 Business class on a 747, and 2 different configurations of the DC-8.

I have the identical guide to the one Neal posted at http://www.photoisland.com --but mine is copyrighted 1998. I found mine in a city ticket office.
The only aircraft shown with first suites is a 278-seat version of the 777-200 XI, and the fleet total of 747-400s (34) is much less than the current 44 documented in another thread. I wonder if UA is going to re-do this guide with current information. It is a great guide, but quite a bit dated with some of the configuration changes that have taken place (or are rumoured to be coming soon)> |
