Quick Question RE Hotel Certs
I am kind of in a jam-- having to make last minute plans to Oakland, and looking for cheap hotel prices. I am thinking of using a MP hotel cert, but have never done so in the past and am currently away from home (where the certs are), and won't be back until right before leaving for Oakland.
For people who have some certs on hand, I don't remember the info that is listed on the backside. If I want to use a cert for a Hilton hotel, are there any stipulations or * exceptions-- i.e. is there a minimum stay, or are there other requirements. Thanks a lot for any info-- if I am unable to use the MP cert I want to request an HHonors rewards cert ASAP. [This message has been edited by dw (edited 01-19-2000).] |
Just call the reservation line and tell them you want to check availability using a United Mileage Plus Hotel certificate (no codes required). Of course, if you do use these certs at Hilton, a Friday or Saturday night stay is required. I would also check out the websites first to compare what other prices (bounceback rate, etc.) you can get to see if you're getting a good deal.
Hotels listed on cert: Crowne Plaza, Hilton, Holiday Inn, Hyatt, Inter-Continental, Radisson, Sheraton, and Westin. I left out the ones that are definitely not in Oakland. [This message has been edited by TropicalFlyer (edited 01-19-2000).] |
Here is the verbage from the cert:
50% Discount Valid Rates: A minimum of the full published retail standard guest room (non-discounted) rate. Stay Requirement: One certificate valid only for two (2) consecutive nights of a stay of any length. Must include Fri or Sat night stay at Hilton and Libertel Hotels. Combinable: Up to seven certs for a 14 night stay. Not valid with any other offer or discount. Avail: May not be avail for all rooms, dates, or hotel properties. # of rooms is limited. Intl properties may be subject to govt approvals, regulations, restrictions, and taxes. Excluded: Discount does not apply to food and bev, incidentals, svc charges, gratuities, and taxes. Refunds: No refunds once stay has commenced. Cert has no cash value. Miles: Miles are not earned when using cert. Frequent Guest Programs: Credit may not be earned in some programs. Call hotel for details. Redemption: Reservations must be made in advance. You must advise agent that you are using a Mileage Plus Hotel and Resort Certificate. Original cert must be surrendered at check-in. ---- I've only found these certs useful a couple of times. Obviously, the more expensive the rooms, the better "discount" you get. Have fun. |
Thanks a lot for your help-- it's saved me a lot of trouble!
