Question for the EXPERTS

Okay, I'm travelling with 3 friends - we are all upgraded to first (domestic), I'm obviously 1K by my handle and also an RCC member. How difficult will it be to bring in that "extra" person into the RCC in SFO and/or in HNL?

Without paying the $50.00 fee. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Chances (not the rules) are good. To be 100% safe, show your 1K and RCC card to a single member entering the RCC at the same time and ask him if he doesn't mind to bring your 3rd person in, I'll bet chances are 2 out of three persons asked will do.

We usually don't even bother to ask anymore -- only the LAX RCC has vipers at the door. Our experience has been that unless the club is REALLY REALLY crowded (SFO and the wonderful delays), the RCC attendants are quite happy to smile and wave as the group walks in...

I've brought in 3 or 4 traveling companions on a couple of occasions, but not at the RCCs you mentioned. I think once at ORD and another at SEA. So my experience is 100% success...

Bring someone in, wait 5 minutes, go get the other.

tgrove - that's what I thought about too, but it seems so juvenile. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

You shouldn't have to play games, and as a 1K RCC member just wave both cards at them as you enter, and you'll probably have no problem. I entered the HNL RCC once with seven guests. Just went to reception and explained they were friends traveling with me. No problem.

At the SEA RCC, once a group of people I work with were travelling internationally and only some were in paid business. I was PE, and a woman and I were nice to the agents and said "we have a group of about 8 people traveling together from Microsoft" while I flashed my PE card and just kind of assumed that was enough to assure us all entry. Well, it was. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif She did yell, "let us know if you want any drink coupons!" as I ran away.

The HNL RCC employees have the aloha attitude. Have used 3 or more guests several times at RCC .Just explained situation at RCC ,usually got a nice response.

The HNL RCC is often fairly empty. The staff there are very obliging and seem to like having extra company!

Its almost always pretty busy when I'm there, but there's always room to sit, and almost always, the ladies are extra nice.
