BOB will count for everyday double miles

A question everyone has been dying to know the answer to, I'm sure.

If you buy a buy-on-board meal on United using your Chase Platinum credit card, it will register as "Dining and Entertainment," and you will get everyday double miles.

I am already planning what to do with the 7 extra RDM I earned on my SFO - JFK turkey sandwich.

Since a US-NZ saver award is 80,000 miles 7 RDM will account for 1.5 miles of the 17,500 roundtrip. That is the takeoff roll.

Do you get a receipt when you buy BOB?

If you have an IC-style minibar party, you might actually earn enough to mean something!

I didn't, but I wasn't expensing that portion of the trip. I think the machine prints them on request.

You should ask for a receipt next time in case your miles don't post as double.

Except that StarNet filtering will see to it that you never see the likes of an NZ cabin on an award ticket.

I'm not sure about a printed receipt, but there are the 'tear off' receipts printed on the inside of the box itself. Not sure if that would work for you.

If you return the box and get a refund in the form of a BOB Chit, do you get to keep the miles? If so, I'm thinking of buying a few boxes everytime, and then planning for a RTW F award.

The least BOB (can we refer to BOB like we do TED?) could do is become a Mileage Plus Dining Partner and offer triple or quadruple miles!

I agree, I thought they only accepted cash as well. Maybe it's the domestic flights they have this requirement/request!!
