Question Nested tickets, segment drop

Hey all,

It's my first time pulling "tricks" on United, so I need some help

I have two trips (separate itins):

trip 1: XXX-IAD-ORD (day A)
trip 2: ORD-IAD-LHR (day A+1)
trip 2: LHR-IAD-ORD (day B)
trip 1: ORD-XXX (day B)

I don't really care about going to ORD at all (on any of those trips). Is it possible to sweet talk UA into anything that would make my life easier? (no status, no luggage, no money)

It's always possible if you get a gate agent in a great mood that's helpful, but technically they're definitely not supposed to put you on a direct or anything that's not at your origin. Can't hurt to try!

Here is an uneducated thought: Maybe have them combined the two tickets in to one PNR. After that, it might be possible to have a GA rub out some of the segments. Though i am guessing you'd have to be at the airport to do that, and since you can't fly standby on international, this might just mean you waiting around IAD for your original flight....
