Global Services only need spend $9000/ mo. If spending drops, GS are warned, and shown a motivational video to help them maintain our minimum level of commitment....

PanHam, the "New System" has categories for specific themes of discussion. You have placed yourself in the category of "Fried Baloney". This term is used by "New System" when said caller turns up the heat on kind listening UA employee to magnify said fictitious flying experience to enhance compensation. It is suggested you apologize to UA employee, or "New System" will escalate your flight label reference from "Fried Baloney" to "manipulating liar". "New System" has found shame to be a useful tool for exposing manipulative flyer's..... Soon to be rolled out.....Large display signs above the boarding door of your next flight will display your current flight label as the CS agent scans your BP. Passengers with lower status waiting to board are encouraged to jeer or boo as cued by this display. FA's enjoying their new found power, shun your entrance to the plane & whisper to each other, ignoring passengers with negative flight labels. This is corrective action, encouraging our passengers to shape up!

PanHam, we do appreciate your humor...

Thank you for allowing us to use your splendid example to highlight "New System". You will receive as compensation one extra free minute on your next call. "New System" Out!

Can we use miles to get more minutes?

Inconsistent Priorities for Compensation?

On a recent flight OGG-SFO, traveling FC, received an "apology" card which led to 5000 RDM because of a non-functioning TV screen. Was this via FA discretion? BTW, wonder if similar situation in the E-cabin would have gotten anything? Then, a couple of weeks later, again FC on an ORD-SEA flight on a 752 w/ that mid-cabin lav (just back of FC) non-functioning, no apology, no comp. Hmm, No TV vs No Lav; is this covered by policy or a relative value judgement?

Nuts not warm = $10
Seat with duct tape = $20
Improper boarding sequence = $18.50
No cherry for ice cream in 1st =$ .35
No Welcome aboard = $5

Lets get the list going and we can all save time on our calls to Customer Service.

:D

I like where you're going with this....

Seat recline is broken = $40
IFE is broken = $30
Headphones crackle = $7.50
No Channel 9 = $5.25

Dear Midnight Sun,

Thank you for contacting "New System".

UA miles can be transfered to PT [phone time] minutes, at the conversion rate of 10 miles per 1 minute. A minimum of 500 miles can be transfered. $15.00 transfer fee per order. Maximum miles transfered per order 25,000. PT minutes cannot be converted into miles.

History of PT minutes:

Originally called DE miles [Dead End] was created to get the miles off the books. One of our creative employees located in Puna, India was on Flyer talk one day and read about United's problem with "miles on the books".

Jokingly, he said "Send them to India!" Thus hearing this brilliant solution UA management connected the dots and found by charging for talk time, callers would rather use miles than dollars to support their chat. So each time a caller transfers miles to PT minutes, the miles are taken off the books in the USA and appear as time in India.

So far there is no state import fee for time, in India. In the USA a new accounting term was created called "nano black hole" it refers to sucking up the symbological representations of value, never to be found again; but of course the transfer fee will help cover the disappearance of the miles from the books, value adjusted.

Thank you for asking Midnight Sun.

Dear Midnight Sun,

Thank you for contacting "New System".

In checking our memory banks we have found a past Company incarnation involving hotels, and presently Hotel points.....However at this time "New System" wishes to encourage usage of UA Bonus miles for minutes. We are interested in making money, not facilitating sleep activities. As you may have noticed over the years, we continually request our pilots & FA's to fly more hours. We feel less sleep for our passengers too will help fill our planes and spend more time calling our centers, because they will make mistakes...thus helping our bottom line with change fees.

The first rule of New System is you don't talk about New System.

"New system" makes it's own rules. TSA evaluates rule poachers thinking they know "New System" rules.
