Sponsored upgrades and schedule changes

I've read previous posts where schedule changes may cause problems with sponsored upgrades. Can you determine if the sponsored certificates are still being applied --- or did .bomb think now they'll come from your account?
I'm specifically concerned about schedule changes where a second (or third) change is made because the .bomb changes are unacceptable.
Do only those certificates to be pulled from your account show up in the
"reserved" section of the upgrade screens?
Thanks for the help.

Yes. However, if the sponsored upgrade gets disassociated, you may be asked at checkin to support your upgrade.

Does that mean the only way to have the sponsor's certificates
"reassociated" is to cancel the current upgrades ( and risk the loss of what
is already in the system) and have the sponsor put their certificates back into the "sponsor an upgrade" site? If the sponsor called MP and stated what happened with the disassociation -- could that be an alternative? Has anyone tried this?
Thanks again for the help.
