SFO->NRT $89 E+ more, worth it?

Anybody have comments on E+ on SFO->NRT for $89 more, is it worth the money?
thx

Depends how much you value more comfort. That extra 4-5" of legroom makes things much nicer.

How tall are you?

If you are on the 777 and can confirm a great seat (such as my favorite, 17AB or HJ), then there is no question!

Absolutely worth it. There is no way I would consider sitting in E- for a 8+ hour flight.

I flew trans-pac on UA in E- once. It was truly torture.

So yes, E+ is worth it. However, if you're planning on flying UA more in the coming months, you might look into having someone sponsor you for 3P status.

On a 747, maybe, maybe not. On a 777, definitely.

If economy is not full, you'll get a much better chance of having an empty seat next to you if you are in E+.

agreed. NRT-SFO in E- was awful. i'd pay the extra cash...

Aren't you a 1P? Why would you need to pay $89?

Right . . . if you are a 1P (Premier Exec) you get E+ for free.

You can verify this by looking at the seatmap for your flight under "My Itineraries". You should see all the E+ seats - just take your pick.

If E+ does not show on the seatmap, something amiss. Just call United to clear up.

How about a E+ middle seat vs. E- asile or window?

E+ middle seat in a flash if it was me (which it won't be!).

I would take the E- aisle seat anytime over a middle or window E+ seat if that was the choice. I have done so HKG-SFO and reverse a couple of times even on the 747. I guess it's a claustrophobia thing, plus I'm up and down like a toilet seat when in coach. Aisle trumps E+ middle/window every time.

Do the E+ fees vary based on fare class? The website is offering me $119 upgrades on an upcoming SEA-NRT flight, which is about 350 miles shorter than SFO-NRT.

No. It's strictly based on distance with some modifiers for specific routes.
