I hear they still sing "Kum Ba Yah" at campouts... maybe that would be a better venue to seek blanket affirmations? Otherwise, if somebody puts it out there, they should know not everyone will agree with them. Deal.

Karl,

Yes you did miss "it"; you misunderstood my comment. I never said this particular thread was harsh, I simply stated that some FT'ers in general can be brutal anonymous cowards. I stand by that comment, and you sir don't want to know what this veteran US Marine thinks about your "Kum Ba Yah" crap! I don't subscribe to that ideology, but I do think it is important to treat people with a little respect. If you don't agree with someone, go ahead and sate that, but there is no need to be rude, harsh or brutal, which can be found all over FT a on a regular basis. The last time I checked this is supposed to be a forum where people share knowledge and opinions, neither requires rude behavior.

No preboard

I see all the posts that say UA doesnt allow preboarding of families (I dont have one so no biggie for me) however multitudes of flights I have taken recently have all announced preboarding for those with children..... go figure.

That’s true. But I maintain I didn’t see anything brutal or harsh. I do see a little breakout of thin-skin here and there, but that’s about all. And BTW, I’d say “Karl” doesn’t sound anywhere near as anonymous as “flying_bubba” so I’d go easy on that coward and anonymity bit.

Oh, goodness me... how utterly brutal! What would the commandant say?

FB, I could not ___________________ what you think of it, or what your ideological subscriptions entail. No less than you presumably would do mine or anyone else's.

And that is certainly your opinion, and I believe it’s shared by many. That was never in dispute. As such, I don’t see what your real problem is and for myself, my interest in it has expired. You can’t control what you don’t control. But if you want to wage war with an entire community, have at it.

(bolding mine) You've missed my point, again. I never said "I don't use an alias" or that it's wrong to use one. I said that some FT'ers are rude and then hide behind their aliases, saying things they would never say to another person's face, but all-to-quickly typing it on FT. Personally I think it's smart to keep this info private for many reasons, UA lurkers being just one of them, but if I ran into you or any FT'er on a plane or in the RCC, I'd say "Hi, I'm an FT'er too. My screen name is ...", and time permitting I'd be glad to chat and have a drink.

Publicly he'd walk the line, privately he'd give me a pat on the back. He's the freakin' CMC, not some lame-@$$ politician. :D

You may not care what I think of it, but you certainly made your inference in your original post.

I'm not interested in waging war with you or anyone else on FT. I simply was correcting the assumptions you made of my original post and continue to make (again bolding mine). I stated my opinion on the rudeness displayed at times and agreed with a fellow FT'er that a little civility would go a long way. Nothing more nothing less. Please don't read anything else into it.

I hope you don't think I'm attacking you (it is so hard to "hear" tone in text), I just don't think you've correctly characterized my statements.
