Is this possible on one award?

Can I fly SIN-MLE-(SIN)-DPS on one award. The only routing on the return would go back through SIN?

Thanks.

So are you proposing that this be your full itinerary, or just one way?

For this award it would be my full itin. I would have another award to get me from SFO-SIN, but want to keep that all UA as opposed to adding on the SIN-DPS onto that, as I may need to do a standard award. My plan is:

Award 1: SFO-SIN-SFO (All UA)
Award 2: SIN-MLE, return MLE-DPS (via SIN)
Award 3: DPS-SIN (one-way award using BMI miles)

So with the 3 awards I would go: SFO-SIN-MLE-DPS(via SIN)-SIN-SFO

It would be wise to do that in 2 UA awards.

1 - SFO-SIN-DPS-SIN-SFO
2 - SIN-MLE-SIN

or

1 - SFO-SIN-MLE-SIN-SFO
2 - SIN-DPS-SIN

The second award be nested within the first awards Stopover in SIN.
This seems the best value for miles. I know for a fact that the SFO-DPS-SFO will be 60/90/120k (Y/C/F) while the SIN-MLE-SIN should be 20/30/40k. So the total miles spend will be 80/120/160k (Y/C/F).

The OP said he wants to keep US-Asia award all on UA in order to be able to turn it into a standard award, so that wouldn't work.

Sorry that I did not pay close attn to the post #2.

In that case, this can be done if the OP starts his award from either MLE or DPS instead of SIN. (Using the one-way award first)
Intra Asia award would look like DPS-(SIN)-MLE-SIN or MLE-(SIN)-DPS-SIN. The award would be considered as a open-jaw.

I hope I am right this time!!!

SIN-MLE-DPS is legal as an open jaw...

SIN-MLE = 2113 miles
SIN-DPS= 1040 miles...

So the open jaw (1040) is lower than the flown (2113)...

On another note, is MLE in South Asia or Central Asia?

I don't see it either way on http://www.united.com/page/article/0,6722,58,00.html

SQ put is in the same zone as India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka - which covers UA's version of South and Central.

Points wise SIN-MLE-SIN on SQ is 40k miles, which is the same as South Asia (SIN) to Central Asia on UA.
