Looks like Denver is the big winner.

ORD - YQC is a new route? That's Quaqtaq, near the North Pole. Just about on par for UA's business decisions this month.

I also don't remember any LAX-DSM flights which are listed as cancelled. Were those continuing flights from DEN?

Of course that should be YQB, which I am taking back to ORD in a couple of weeks. I imagine AC is handling ground ops for UAX.

Service cuts to international driven destinations being driven by the price of oil and the weak USD.

Service expansion to Canada being driven by the price of oil/gas/uranium. Service expansion within the USA being driven by the weak USD and I'd guess the price of natural gas.

Interesting. I'm going to be scanning e-fares this summer. A weekend there would be really cool.

UA doesn't fly SFO-OKC. OKC has DEN, IAD, LAX and ORD.

Nope, new CR7 service from LAX which had started in Feb of this year.

Also reduction in service ORD-PIT

GSO going all UX comes as no surprise. UA has reduced service to GSO by downgauging aircraft over the past several years where we were left with only 1 consistent mainline flight/day (ie the morning ORD flight). The late afternoon flight to ORD is hit or miss of either mainline or UX. Due to high fares (nearly 20-25% increase in the year BEFORE the spike in oil prices + the current increases) and dwindling capacity, it was inevitable that UA would downsize us again. Pax were driving to RDU or CLT for the lower fares, me included, but RDU has also suffered similar reductions in gauge. RDU discontinued its mainline RDU-DEN route and, from all appearances, looks to heading for all UX as well :(. I had 3 itins booked on the RDU-DEN for this fall and had to reroute on all of them.

Do you have any more details on this? Which flight(s) and after what date? Thanks! :-:

When are these changes going to be loaded?

pareto Jul 1, 2008 10:31 am
