As a native, I thank you.

I'm not sure why they say it goes seasonal in 2009. It's already yanked from the schedule starting this fall.

I'm going to start my rain dance for expanded service meaning non-Ted planes (but of course, it's going to result in what rain dances generally result in).

Wasn't updated in the timetables post-Nov...still 15 each way/day. Since they normally seem to cancel a few every day anyways, probably not that big of a change.

Well, looks like SJC is being marginalized to almost nothing - the reduced service to ORD has been changed to no service, and DEN is reduced. Unfortunately, I have to go back to AA now.

Thumbs down

Seattle is losing a lot of flights too. Any idea how many?

I don't get this. Why are they only expanding LAX-SAN service while flights to all other hubs are reduced (and LAX is also getting the brunt of the cuts this fall!). I am assuming 99.9% of the LAX-SAN traffic are connecting passengers, no?

Probably trying to encourage routine all SAN traffic through LAX.

2. SFO-RNO says it is being reduced 9/2 and also 11/2. So does that mean two rounds of reductions, or is it just a typo?
The net result will be a marked reduction in service to Reno. RNO-SFO will go from 5/6 flights a day (weekdays/weekends) currently to a mere 4 a day in 2 steps. RNO-DEN is reduced from 4 to 3 flights a day. RNO-LAX will be one flight a day, on FrSaSu only, CRJ-200.

This will make flying out of RNO on UA challenging, but is there any choice?

SEA is going to a handful of CR7s to LAX and losing a couple of flights to the other hubs listed.

I would imagine LAX only lasts 6 more months (unless VX dies first).

Sorry I won't be able to answer any question regarding how the schedule is actually changing, that's all the information UA provided.

I still want to know how DFW-IAD is reduced. There have been 2 Shuttle American E70's for ages, and that is still what comes up when doing a search for September.

Surprised to see DEN-CLT going, but I guess the whole thing with US isn't really working out.

Oh well, at least there's 4 or 5 flights a day from DEN and ORD.
AA isn't too sad about it.

Seriously, this thread brings home just how much capacity is being reduced. A lot of places will be hurting. ABQ is getting cuts to DEN, ORD and SFO, and as far as I know, the latter two are only 2x daily anyway.

Have US fly the route as a codeshare, why duplicate service.
