You're right, of course. I just copied the relase blindly, without filtering for accuracy. Also, these are changes from the 4/2 schedule -- was there a flight then that doesn't fly now?

No more ORD-MEX????

I would have thought they would cancel ORD-PVR before ORD-MEX. Major bummer.

Looks like SJC is a big loser - just when I was starting to shift my business away from AA...

United's Response at O'Hare

I was curious as to what you guys think United will do at O'Hare. AA just slashed 62 flights, and with flight caps gone soon, United could widen the gap in terms of market share between AA. Then again, no airline will be looking to increase capacity. Do you think United will add capacity/flights, stay the same or even retract themselves.

Current weekday flights, not counting the reductions coming later for AA (from what I counted in the timetables)
UA: 616
AA: 516

wierd that exactly 100 flights seperate the two.

There is another thread talking about the cuts expected at ORD and other hubs. So to answer your question, they will reduce frequencies to some places, cut cities fully to other places and in a couple of places increase service.

A shame about IAD-SJC.. the "nerd bird" always seemed packed - I remember getting stuck with M/B/Y fares pretty frequently (and not scoring that elusive A319 upgrade ever). Then again, I won't miss the 5:30am mile-long line for security. With OAK out, and SJC no-longer a non-stop, this drives me to SFO as my only UA option from IAD (though B6 looks better and better all the time).

It seems a bit confusing to have ANC under the "station closures" and also under the route cancellation out of DEN only. When I first looked through the list and saw DEN-ANC as a canceled route, but didn't see SFO-ANC listed, I got excited.... until I read to the bottom.

How is IAD-DFW reduced? I see 2x UX throughout the future schedule as it has been in the recent past.
