UA cocktail receptions in MEL and SYD to unveil new seats [merged]
"The Secret is soon to be unveiled" reads the invitation...
Is anybody else attending this cocktail reception? (it's happening towards the end of June - I won't disclose any more for fear of gatecrashers
Cheers,
Greg

Is it to be at the airport? Does UA intend to have one of the reconfigured 744s in MEL? What is the actual date?

So is anyone invited to the party going to tell us the date? I am off to SYD relatively soon and am trying to figure out, if they are going to have a plane down there, if I may have the luck of the new config (I know, I know, not likely).

The Sydney session isn't on until 6pm on 24 June, so no info from that source until then.

SYD 1K unveiling June 24, for new 747 C/F seats etc
Been away for 2 weeks in Cuba etc and ploughing thru a ton of mail tonight and we both get this:

An invite as 1K's and presumably GS and other high revs to UA's super cocktail launch of THEIR (allegedly) HOT DOG new C/F seats next week.
"Invitation is strictly non-transferable"
Maybe SYD is getting the new seats on 747's faster than was imagined?

UA needs a few more 747's to go through refurb before they could totally commit to having them 100% on the USA-SYD/MEL routes. They may do a one-off run to SYD every now and then, but that'd be the extent of it for the next few months given their current progress of a new plane every 3-4 weeks.

Had not realised there was a thread on this already when I posted.
Sounds like a mini FT Doo to me coming up.
Where's wimpy?

Ooooh boy!
I have a trip in January in first using FF miles. I'll be tickled if it's on a newly configured 747. Hot damn!

Doesn't sound like there will be a plane down there, unless they bring it into Circular Quay on a barge.
