Saver Award Question
 

Gang,

We are thinking of doing a last second cruise.... and of course, fares are pretty high....

I am trying to work with the online ual.bomb..... enough said.... :)

On the calendar, it shows in blue availability for 2 first class saver awards BOS-SEA but then when I click on the dates... it says not available.

We were looking for May 23 - June 1.... cruise is May 24 - May 31.

Any suggestions on what else to check... or what I am doing wrong?

I don't see any availability on those exact departure dates.

Looks like the 24th is available, as is 21st. Understandable that the 23rd is not available - it's Memorial Day weekend.

I don't think you are doing anything wrong. I have had the same thing happen. Just more united.com weirdness, albeit very, very annoying.

You may need to call and get specific flights sorted out then go back online to book.

I wish I knew what to do about this, too.

I'm not sure what the problem is.

I put in May 23-31 BOS-SEA, 2 Saver First Class request.

The calendars come up, saying that there is nothing on May 23, but there is availability every single day returning in June.

Strange... I even tried May 21 - June 1 for 2 first saver... and nothing.

This doesn't make sense.

I found two Saver Award First class seats on May 21 - June 1.

Are you logged in or not, not that it matters since you no longer have to log in first to search.

You are right - it doesn't make sense. But the fact is that it happens intermittently. I can't recreate it right now but have seen it. I'm kind of wondering if it might be a cache/cookie kind of thing but don't have the expertise to figure it out.

Same thing happens to me all the time, it is very annoying!

I also have this happens. It shows availability and when you choose the available dates, it then says no availability. Maybe a phone call would help.

I had a look at 5/21 and there are a few options. None are very pretty, but if you need to make it work, you can.

Noticed this issue as well last week. It seemingly has to do with some sort of limit on the displayed connections on united.com. IE, it only shows the first 10 or so flight combos, and if the combo with available award seats is the 11th, it shows you that error. I had to call as well.

Sigh.... I have made two calls.... being told NOTHING is available from May 21 - June 1.

This is getting ridiculous.... wish the price was lower... I would just pay... and get the double miles....

I am amazed they cannot get their technology working.

I am STILL able to see the following flights available:

The only bad thing is SFO-SEA is in Economy, but you are welcome to waitlist for F since this is an all-UA award.

I found all the above by plugging in May 21 - Jun 1, two First Saver Award seats on united.com.

I see what the problem is now.

One segment, SFO-SEA is NY, not XY.

The OP is 1P, not 1K, thus can't get NY. Therefore, he couldn't get the whole thing. Sorry about that.... :eek:

I am assuming that UnitedSkies is 1K.
