What Do The Elite Codes Mean?
 

I was reading the sticky in this forum and it referenced 1P, 2P etc. Is there a translation table for a newbie? I'm premier associate whatever that means still not sure with all the codes floating around. Thanks

GS=Global Services
1K= Premier Executive 1K
1P= Premier Executive
2P= Premier
3P= Premier Associate

If you don't know what "Premier Associate" is then N334AA's table probably won't be much help.

This gives a brief overview:
Mileage Plus Status levels and terms in generally ascending order:
GM: General Member - No status. Just collects small amounts of miles (by FT standards, of course)
3P: Premier Associate - Unknown criteria as of yet
2P: Premier - 25000 miles or 30 segments in a calendar year
1P: Premier Executive - 50,000 miles or 60 segments in a calendar year
1K: Premier Exec 100,000 Mile Fliers - 100,000 miles or 100 segments in a calendar year

Mileage Plus Premier Associate

[Also known as 3P] is the newest lowest elite tier. You can only become 3P through invitation of another Elite member or through a "soft landing". Your status is valid till the last day in February of the year following your appointment.

36 Hour Upgrade Window when using 500 mile certificates or Y/B fare complimentary upgrade.

Why do you say unknown? It's long been known that 3P is by nomination - you can't "qualify" for it by yourself.

You also can/could get 3P from the Mileage Plus Visa.

This was a promotion they were running last year (as of March, at least). I do not know if it's still around.

I don't say unknown, the FAQ does.

One more clarification for OP (original poster) that these "elite codes" are UA-specific. There are absolutely equivalents at other airlines but those boards will use different "codes".

Wait a minute..

You mean not all frequent flier programs are called Mileage Plus, and not all elite status levels are some variation on Premier??

Global 1P doesnt exist any more...all Globals are 1K by default.
