naa, ORD-HKG. but, it might explain why there is a 744 going between SFO-ORD. probably trying to work out the kinks before sending it onto HKG.

Not sure where that flight number came from , it came in to SFO as 9927 March 17. Strange to think an old gray and blue flying around with the new interior, wonder why it doesn't have a new paint job.

Finally, we have one 747 configured

Looking forward to reports for this aircraft, especially given the 4 abreast center C seats.

It wouldn't necessarily be out of the question to fly it ORD-SFO-ORD for a few weeks to iron out any teething issues.

Agreed, it would make sense (from us armchair schedulers). So what is the return flight (SFO-ORD) and does it have the new seatmaps?

It's the 6:15am flight 54 that gets in at 12:19pm. Perfect timing for turning back to ORD-SFO at 3pm.

And yes, it has the new seatmaps.

So it all seems to make sense... I just hope the plane is ready for our trip!

The seat maps for early April IAD-FRA changed back to the old configuration last night -- start up again now in late April. The March flights IAD-FRA-IAD are probably a little screwy because of daylight savings time starting earlier in the US.

If I were a betting person, I would put money on IAD-FRA just because they should have experience at both ends in fixing the new seats on the 767 already. As far as oversea routes, I will believe it when I see it based on the experience with the 767s.

747s pop into into the schedule when they need to reposition one or get it to SFO for maintenance. Might as well take a few passengers along while they're at it.

I'm on 916 on 4/25, called this morning for an upgrade (waitlisted) and was told it was the new config 747...we'll see if it holds.

Exclamation UA57 SFO-ORD now 747 with NGBC seat map

The UA57 SFO-ORD 615am-1219pm is now showing as a 747 from 3/30 Sunday thru 4/21, along with UA149 ORD-SFO 300pm-534pm also showing as a 747 through from 3/30 through 4/20.

I'm on UA57 next Monday 3/31 SFO-ORD, I got my upgrade to C confirmed and noticed that UA.com and my travel agent site are showing the NGBC seat maps and no seat assignments available. Seatcounter is showing that flight right now as C2D2Z2I2. This thread had some earlier speculation about this SFO-ORD-SFO turn being used for a few days as the shakeout.

Planemechanic or others in-the-know, any news on what day N182UA is going into service? Are they actually planning to do UA57/UA149 SFO-ORD-SFO turns first as a shakeout?

I know not to get my hopes too high based on seat map (my coworker just had the 767 SFO-IAD switched back to old config the morning of the flight), but I'm taking my camera just in case!

Going off this data, the a/c makes its last ORD-SFO run on 4/20 and last SFO-ORD run 4/21. That says to me the a/c is staying in ORD and going on to some place else (hopefully HKG...)
