PHX<->IAD getting Tedified

Was looking for award travel near the end of March and I noticed that another A320 has been added PHX<->IAD.

The new one is a Ted bird.

United 1635 Operated by United For Ted 32S IAD 08:28 AM PHX 10:29 AM Stops: 0

United 1636 Operated by United For Ted 32S PHX 11:50 PM IAD 07:01 AM Next day Stops: 0

The Tedification seems to start around Feb13-Feb17 or so...

They are adding an additional TED flight to the route. The 952/953 mainline is not supposed to change.

There was a thread on this added Ted flight over a month ago. Old news!

One flight per day out of three to remain mainline? Perhaps, given this is the prime flight for connections from Europe and those high-dollar tickets. However, you can be certain that the mainline route will be a prime candidate for Ted substitution on a frighteningly regular basis.

UA 953 is already one of the most frequently Ted-swapped routes. There will be two frequencies (not three) on the route: one mainline and one Ted.

I know from personal experience that this flight is often all or nearly all paid C traffic. Personally if they were to TEDify 952/953, my paid C traffic over the pond would go to US or AA. I can tolerate TED SFO-PHX on a paid C ticket because of how short the flight it, however 4+ hours... no way. Just my two cents; and I think that there are enough people like me to support that one flight a day.

I'd guess that the second IAD-PHX flight will go away, I know a few years ago they added a second mainline and that went away. Perhaps TED will change that but I wouldn't count on it.

Sorry for the misread earlier. I stand corrected about one additional TED flight per day; not two.

I've also seen it swapped for a 752... I wouldn't say that occurs often.... just like the 320 swaps.
